2017 Summer Reading

Help your student avoid the “summer slide,” a decline in their reading ability, by encouraging regular reading over the break. Summer is a great time to relax and to have fun, but it’s also a time when all students can improve their reading abilities and language skills.

HPA has developed Summer Reading Programs for all levels to help keep students’ minds sharp. Some of the summer reading is a requirement and will be part of the student’s grade. Click on the links below to view or download your student’s program.

Studies show students who don’t read regularly stay stagnant or can see a decline in abilities. This trend is more common as students progress. Students can avoid the “summer slide” by being engaged in whatever they choose to read.
