High Point Academy is delighted to welcome our newest member, Paul Gilliam, to the Board of Directors. Gilliam was sworn in at the board meeting on December 6, 2021. A retired teacher, he has dedicated his life to education. He earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations/Political Science at the University of South Carolina and a master's in education at Converse University.
Gilliam began his career as a history teacher in Greenwood District 50. In 1994, he joined Spartanburg District 4 where he has remained since then. He retired from teaching in 2018 and now serves as an instructor for Woodruff High School’s intervention program.
A lifelong resident of Woodruff, Gilliam enjoys serving the community. He loves to spend time with his family and makes a mean banana pudding.
