*The sessions will include essential information about many things including:

  • PARENTSQUARE

All information, including that from teachers and coaches, will be communicated to families using this tool. We will walk you through how to sign-up so you can be-in-the know 24/7.

  • CAR LINE

We have new car line procedures for all drop-offs for the 2022-2023 school year. We will tell you what you need to know to help keep the car line moving smoothly - especially on those first few days. Our elementary school has created a video for elementary dismissal procedures which you will find on our elementary school page, or you can click here to watch it.

Please note that there will be no early drop-off this school year. Doors to the main entrance and drop-off (in the front center of the building behind the front playground) and side drop-off elementary (to the left of the building if you are facing the front) will remain locked until 7:15 a.m. For the safety of your children, please do not drop them off prior to 7:15 a.m. There is no adult supervision prior to this time.

The car line is the only provided means of dismissal each day at 2:45. Please do not try to skip the car line by going to get your child at the front office or parking in the parking lot and having your student come to your vehicle. The front office will not dismiss students after 2:15 unless the office has received prior (and confirmed) notification by note or email for early dismissal (for something such as a doctor's appointment). Students must be picked up no later than 3:15 p.m. unless they are participating in sports, clubs, after-school care or activities.

  • STUDENT PARKING AND PASSES

This year you will be able to obtain your student parking pass during Meet the Teacher. You will find the application here on our website under Parents & Students/Documents & Forms. Printing, filling it out, and bringing it to Meet the Teacher will save you time.

Parking Pass Applications

o   Parking passes are $20 per vehicle.

o   Students must show a driver’s license and proof of insurance to obtain a parking pass.

  • UNIFORMS
o   ONLINE: The online uniform store is taking orders. Click this link to shop!
o   ON-CAMPUS STORE: The Uniform Store** will be open during Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 10, from 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
o   GENTLY USED SWAP:  You can purchase gently used uniforms during Meet the Teacher. Our PTO will have racks set up for you to browse and buy.

**Note: We only offer NEW merchandise at our Uniform Store.

Students in grades 6 – 12 receive school-issued laptops to use during the school year.

  • FREE OR REDUCED-PRICE LUNCHES

Last year, the federal government provided free lunches for all students. That program has come to an end, so this year we will be resuming normal procedures for breakfast and lunch purchases. Students need healthy meals to learn. Your children may qualify for free meals or reduced-price meals. For more information, including this year's prices, click here, or go to the resources section of our Grizzly Café page or click here to apply. For more information, please contact our Food Service Director, Ms. Edwards, at 316-9788, ext. 157 or [email protected]

FIRST-DAY TOMORROW (email to parents)

We look forward to seeing you back on campus for the first day of school tomorrow, Wednesday, August 10, at 8 a.m. Thank you to everyone who attended Meet the Teacher to help prepare your student and your family for success in the 2022-2023 school year.
For those of you who weren't able to attend, we have a few highlights to help get you up to speed.

PARENTSQUARE
All information, including that from teachers and coaches, will be communicated to families using this tool in the weeks to come. You should have received a separate email earlier today explaining how you can begin to use it. You can also find the information on our website by clicking here.

CAR LINE
We have a few new car line procedures for drop-off for the 2022-2023 school year and we kindly ask for your patience as everyone learns to navigate the first few days – especially our new families, whom we are excited to welcome to HPA.

DROP-OFF
The most significant change you will see is that students will not enter through the main front doors. Also, there will be no early drop-off this school year. Outside doors will remain locked until 7:15 a.m. For the safety of your children, please do not drop them off before 7:15 a.m. There will be no adult supervision prior to this time.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:  Elementary students will now be dropped off at the cafeteria entrance on the west side of the building. This means drivers will go past the main entrance, turn right onto Old Lowe and follow staff who will direct you to the middle entrance, or The Den entry. Elementary students will remain in the cafeteria until 7:45, when a teacher escorts them to class.

MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL: Middle and high school students will now enter through the Performing Arts Center (PAC) doors. Drop-offs for the PAC and student drivers will enter through the car lane to the right as you turn into the main entrance. Once they are dropped off, middle and high school students will remain in the PAC for the first five minutes of school before they are dismissed to first period.

PICK UP
The car line is the only provided means of dismissal each day at 2:45. Please do not try to skip the car line by getting your child at the front office or parking in the parking lot and having your student come to your vehicle. The front office will not dismiss students after 2:15 unless the office has received prior (and confirmed) notification by note or email for early dismissal (for something such as a doctor's appointment). Students must be picked up no later than 3:15 p.m. unless they are participating in sports, clubs, after-school care or activities.
Our elementary school created a video for elementary dismissal procedures which you will find on our elementary school page, or you can click here to watch it.
