Congratulations to the High Point Academy Teacher-of-the-Year, Mr. Stephen Place. Mr. Place, a high school English Language Arts teacher, was selected to represent HPA at the annual South Carolina Teacher of the Year Gala in Columbia on May 4. Popularly known as the “Academy Awards” of teaching, it is the largest celebration of public education in South Carolina. The event includes teachers, legislators, and business leaders who gather to acknowledge the importance of the teaching profession and celebrate the South Carolina Teacher of the Year who is announced at the event.
