SPARTANBURG, SC – High Point Academy is pleased to announce the selection of veteran coach Lee Sartor as varsity boys’ basketball coach for the 2023-2024 season. Coach Sartor brings more than 20 years of experience as a coach and educator to HPA, recently serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Erskine College.
Before coaching at the college level, Coach Sartor led the boys’ varsity basketball team at Spartanburg Day School to three state titles, being named Coach of the Year seven times. During his high school coaching career, he coached fifteen all-state players, including Zion Williamson, who now plays professionally for the New Orleans Pelicans.
A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Coach Sartor received a basketball scholarship to USC Upstate, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He also holds a Master of Arts in Human Resources from Webster University. In addition to his coaching duties, Sartor will assume the position of Career Development Facilitator.
Sartor and his wife, Olivia, reside in Spartanburg. Their son, LA, is a graduate of Claflin University, and their daughter, Fanchon, is a graduate of Wofford College. They are also the proud grandparents of a grandson, Zayn.
