High Point Academy is like the Little Engine That Could.

Founded in 2014, HPA was created to meet a need in Spartanburg County. In an area with exploding population, area schools have been bursting at the seams for years and in the process, many students have gotten lost in the giant systems the schools have become.

Enter High Point Academy: a student-focused, individualized environment in a smaller school setting. Because HPA is a K-12 school with no more than 125 students per grade, we are able to learn the strengths and weaknesses of each and every student and their family, allowing us to move every student in growth at every level.

We build strong relationships in supporting the community. Conversely, we are large enough to offer a wide variety of opportunities, including an extremely strong fine arts program, diverse athletic programs, focused CTE (Career and Technical Education) pathways and academic acceleration through a dual enrollment program in partnership with Spartanburg Community College.

HPA is truly a special place. These things, along with much more, is what helped us earn the honor of being voted Spartanburg’s Best Charter School of 2025!

High Point Academy has been voted Best in this year's Readers Choice awards for Best Charter School!
