We are delighted to announce that High Point Academy now has its very own app! Developing an app is a vital step in helping us improve our communications systems on multiple planes:
Internal - the app allows HPA families to Connect with teachers, classrooms, teams, clubs and more. With announcement boards, group messaging, private messaging and more, families and staff have one place to communicate. This allows us to use ONE app in ONE place for ALL students, streamlining communication for parents. Teachers have more options, such as the option of connecting their Rooms to Google Classroom. They can also use a behavior tracker, much like Class Dojo does, but it's all in one place. The app is connected to your information in PowerSchool, so your contact information automatically syncs with the app. Set up is a breeze!
External - Anyone can use the HPA app! While outside users can't see information specific to students, families, rooms or messages, they can see our live feed, news stream and calendar. Share the app with family and friends who want to know your student's sports schedule and more. The app is also a great marketing and communication tool for families who want to see what makes HPA so special.
Beyond - Up until now, once a student graduates from HPA, it has been very difficult to stay in touch because PowerSchool archives all of their information. Now, students who are HPA alumni, if they have the app, can keep tabs on what's going on at HPA and we can stay in touch with them. This is our first major step towards creating an Alumni Association to grow connection among our alumni and ensure future success for future HPA graduates.
It is our hope that our new app and website will serve all HPA families well through better communication for Grizzlies past, present and future!
