We are delighted to announce Coach Makaylah Plemmons, "Coach Mak", as our new Interim Athletic Director for the 2026-2027 school year! 🥎🎉

Serving as our Assistant AD for the last three years and coaching at HPA since 2018, Coach Mak is poised and ready to take the helm. Her vision centers on building a strong culture of commitment, accountability, and excellence, ensuring our student-athletes succeed in the classroom, compete at a high level, and develop into confident leaders. 📚💪🎓

Outside of school, Coach Mak and her family, including her husband, a devoted wrestling coach and math teacher, pour countless hours into growing student-athletes. For them, HPA isn’t just a school, it’s home. 🏡❤️

Magic was definitely in the air at HPA! ✨🎩

There’s nothing like the wonder on our students' faces during moments like these. We truly cherish the freedom in our education that allows us to bring unique, unforgettable experiences like this magic show to campus.

It’s about more than just the classroom, it’s about creating memories that last a lifetime. So thankful for this community! 🐻

✨Teacher Spotlight: Reading Coach, Mary Kaye Hannon. ✨

Behind the scenes, Ms. Hannon is always hard at work supporting both students and teachers. Whether it’s working side-by-side in classrooms, sharing and modeling best practices, or offering encouragement, she plays a key role in helping everyone succeed.

You’ll often find Ms. Hannon greeting parents with a warm smile while helping dismissal run smoothly each afternoon. Her positive energy and willingness to lend a hand never go unnoticed.

And if you see a puppet or stuffed animal nearby, you’ve probably found her! These little friends are just one of the many ways she brings joy to our HPA school community.

We are grateful for the dedication, kindness, experience, and enthusiasm Ms. Hannon brings to HPA every single day!📚

A huge night on the diamond for the Grizzlies! 🥎🐻

We had a blast celebrating Staff Night at the field, but the highlight of the evening was honoring our senior, Cheyenne Howard. Cheyenne, we are so proud of the athlete and leader you’ve become, and we can’t wait to see what you do next!
It was a special full-circle moment to have her mom, our very own librarian, Mrs. Howard, and Mr. Howard coaching, there to celebrate with her. From the library to the dugout, the Howard family is such a vital part of our HPA community. 📚✨

Thank you to all the staff who came out to show their support and to Cheyenne for your years of dedication to the program. Once a Grizzly, always a Grizzly! 🎓💪
