Power Outage Update

Dear Parents,

Subject: Power Outage Update

Dear HPA Families,

Once again, thank you for being the BEST. We do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. A power pole went down on Zimmerman Rd near The Flounder. The power did come back on about an hour after it went out, but at that point, we had already started dismissal. The power company had told us that we could expect not to have power restored until at least 12:30. Maybe longer. That meant that there would be no way we could prepare lunches for our students. To complicate matters even more, many of our 3rd – 8th graders were in the middle of state testing when we lost power. We lost internet and the tests cannot be paused for more than 20 minutes. Here’s what you need to know:
  • We will resume school as normal tomorrow.
  • We will not have to make up today’s school day.
  • Mrs. Goodlett and Ms. Buster will contact you regarding the updated testing schedule.
  • The Dance Showcase has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 13th, at 6:30 p.m.
As always, our number one priority is taking care of your children. Thank you so much for your patience and kind understanding.

Best regards,

Brian Sherman
Superintendent
