8th Grade ELA Teacher
Amy Devolve
Mrs. Amy Devolve is a Connecticut native who started her career in Special Education. She made the transition to neurotypical education shortly after moving to South Carolina and earning her Masters in the Art of Teaching at American University. Now in her third year at High Point Academy as an 8th grade ELA teacher, Devolve brings enthusiasm, dedication, and a student-centered approach to every lesson. She is committed to creating an inclusive classroom environment where every learner can thrive. Amy has been happily married to her husband, Robert for 26 years. Together they are proud parents to three young adults and two fur babies. Mrs. Devolve treasures trips back to her home state, where she reconnects with family, friends, and the coastal landscapes of her youth. When she isn’t teaching, Mrs. Devolve enjoys: Quality time with her family—whether pool-side at home or soaking up the sun at the beach; diving into a good book (often with a cup of coffee in hand); and traveling.
