Dr. Ryan Bishop

Dr. Bishop grew up in Lake City, Florida where the arts had a significant impact on his life. While in High School, he was in an auditioned vocal ensemble, jazz band, concert band, and was Drum Major his senior year of marching band. In his church he designed sets for community productions and participated in an auditioned ensemble. After high school he attended Lake City Community College (Florida Gateway College) to pursue an Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in music. After graduation he attended Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education and credentials to teach Chorus and Band in Florida. Following graduation from FSU, he attended SWBTS to pursue a degree in Christian Education with a concentration in Ministry to Youth. After many years of ministry in Florida and South Carolina he transitioned to the classroom in 2012. Since starting his career in K-12 education, he has earned a Master of Theater from Regent University, an Education Specialist - Principalship, and a Doctor of Educational Leadership from University of the Cumberlands. In addition to directing the fine arts program at High Point Academy, he teaches Guitar and Technical Theater. In his spare time he loves to go Glamping and spend time with family at the lake or in the mountains.
