We are a community-centered school built on the principles of honor, integrity, and service where academic excellence, STEAM education, and project-based, applied learning instruction builds tomorrow’s leaders.

Who we are:
High Point Academy Spartanburg, SC is a free public charter school founded in 2014. We are Spartanburg County’s only charter school serving students in kindergarten through 12th-grades. High Point Academy Spartanburg provides a secure and safe environment for students who live in South Carolina regardless of their assigned school district. High Point Academy Spartanburg is one of more than 30 school members of the South Carolina Public Charter School District.

Our mission is to educate, help every student feel welcome, connect, and be a part of the High Point Academy family. We ask our students, our parents, and our staff to uphold the High Point Academy Commitment.

High Point Academy Spartanburg is built on the principles of honor, integrity, and service. High Point Academy Spartanburg is led by certified teachers anchored in an applied learning style of instruction with an emphasis in S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) education and character development and leadership training. What is a charter school?
Charter schools are state-funded, free public schools that have the flexibility to adapt to the educational needs of individual students.

The purpose of a charter school is:

  • Increase learning opportunities within the public school system
  • Create new teaching opportunities for attracting new teachers
  • Establish new forms of accountability for public schools
  • Encourage innovative and different learning methods

South Carolina is now ranked 12th in the nation for Charter School Law.  The state is seeking to improve education on all levels and lead the nation in educational choices.
