HPA Names New Middle School Principal

Tucker Hamrick MS Principal

SPARTANBURG, SC – High Point Academy is pleased to welcome Tucker Hamrick as Middle School Principal beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Hamrick started his career in education as a teacher in Spartanburg District 1, where he later served as a principal, assistant principal, and assistant director of operations. 

Hamrick is a graduate of Clemson University where he earned a degree in Science Teaching and played on the Clemson Tiger football team. His experience as a player later served him well as a varsity football assistant coach, JV baseball head coach, and varsity softball head coach. 

Hamrick says he is passionate about working with students each day. “I am thrilled to be able to make a direct impact on students, teachers, staff, and the school community through my new position as principal of High Point Academy Middle School,” says Hamrick. He is impressed by the middle school’s Excellent Overall Rating on the South Carolina Report Card for the 2021-2022 school year. According to Hamrick, “I hope to be a guiding force for students and teachers as we take on the opportunity of making HPA a fantastic school in all areas!” 
 
Originally from Shelby, North Carolina, Hamrick now lives in Inman with his wife, Danielle, an assistant principal at Boiling Springs Elementary. They have three children, Payton, 14, Abbey, 11, and Luke, 6.
