Congratulations to our elementary and middle school robotics "Lego League" teams who qualified for the state competition! Both teams competed against 17 other teams on Saturday, February 12, at Fisher Middle School. The middle school team won 2nd place for their innovation project and placed 5th overall. That earned them a trip to the state competition this Saturday in Summerville.
The elementary team won the Global Innovation Award and secured their spot. The team invented a robot mailbox that helps delivery drivers deliver packages more efficiently. It delivers packages to a homeowner's front door from the roadside, which is especially helpful to seniors or anyone with a physical challenge that makes it hard for them to walk to the mailbox. It also has safety features that keep packages from being stolen.
